Where does the word "weaving" come from?
"Weaving" as a verb meaning "forming by interlacing yarn; devising" comes from Old Englishwefan, which means the same thing. By the late 1300s it gains the meaning of "combining into a whole," and by the 1640s it also means "going by twisting and turning." Another form of the verb means "moving from one place to another," appearing around 1200, but that form may have a different derivation. The noun form can mean an abnormal behavior in horses, in which the horse sways back and forth; this behavior is never seen in wild horses. Links.NightCafe Image Source
